What makes Telluride unique? It is a small ski town in the SW corner of Colorado. Tucked away in a box canyon, surrounded by the mighty peaks of the San Juan’s. Telluride started as a mining town in the 1800′s and became a ski resort in 1973.
Crested Butte is known as “Colorado’s last great ski Town.” Crested Butte Mountain Ski Resort is just minutes from town on the free shuttle bus. Stroll down the streets and alleys and enjoy the historic colorful buildings, most of which date back to the late 1800s when Crested Butte was a bustling coal mining town.
